On
entering through the narrow split door we turn
right and head into the lounge bar which in Robert
Burns day was the original stabling. Here his
horse would be well looked after by the Globe
Inn groom until his business was concluded and
he could head back from Dumfries to Jean at Ellisland
Farm some six miles distant. The Globe could be
described as a latter day car park, somewhere
safe to leave your most precious asset!

Leaving the lounge we
enter through a very low entrance to the snug
bar 'guarded' by a sliding door
