Step inside The Howff, an intimate private dining space steeped in Scottish literary history.
Once a well-kept secret tucked within historic walls, this atmospheric room was the founding home of the Burns Howff Club in 1889. The club drew its name from Scotland’s national bard, Robert Burns, who famously called The Globe Inn his favourite “howff”—an old Scots word for a beloved meeting place or haunt.
Now open for exclusive private hire, The Howff welcomes intimate gatherings of up to 12 guests. Whether you are marking a milestone anniversary, celebrating a birthday, hosting a curated whisky-paired dinner, or bringing family together, you will enjoy bespoke dining with tailored menus crafted for an unforgettable occasion.
Dining in one of our private dining spaces is the ultimate treat, offering unrivalled service, and attention to detail. The menu must be taken by the whole group.
Due to the highly specialised, intricate nature of our signature menus and our focus on estate-led ingredients, we have specific limitations on dietary modifications. Regrettably, we are unable to accommodate dairy-free or vegan dietary requirements.
